Abstract

This work shall deal with the information that is used as resource for business decision-making, information technologies, information systems and the process of decision-making based on models.

Information is a resource of the business process along with the material, power and organizational resources.

In the course of their development, information systems broaden their significance and pass through phases from the system for data processing, through management systems and decision-making support systems to the expert systems and systems based on neuron networks.

The decision as a choice among several possibilities will be more reliable and rational if it is based on the correct, tested and scientifically based information. In the decision-making process, however, so called "soft" information are being used as well. Different models that will also be tackled in this work support taking proper decision.
